Florida House Democratic Campaigns Caucus Director Dan Newman Joins Capital City Ventures

Tallahassee, Fla. – Capital City Consulting, LLC today announced Florida House Democratic Campaigns Caucus Director Dan Newman has joined its team of government affairs consultants, as of today, November 1, 2017.

Newman served as the Caucus Director for the Florida House Democratic Campaigns at the Florida Democratic Party from December 2013 through June 2017 under House Leaders Perry Thurston, Mark Pafford and Janet Cruz. He oversaw record fundraising for Florida House Campaigns in 2014 and the addition of several seats in 2016. “Having worked with Dan for years, he is one of the most trusted advisers to Florida Democrats,” said Minority Leader Representative Janet Cruz. “I’m excited for his new venture with Capital City Consulting and look forward to working with him in his new capacity.” Prior to running Florida House Campaigns, Newman helped manage the successful retention campaigns of Justices Barbara Pariente, Fred Lewis and Peggy Quince to the Florida Supreme Court. In 2010, Newman served as statewide political director for the Alex Sink for Governor Campaign coordinating her outreach to elected officials, 67 county parties, labor unions, trade associations and key constituencies. From 2003 to 2007, Newman worked in the Political Department of the Florida Chamber of Commerce alongside the legendary Marian Johnson. While there, he helped coordinate a $6 million political program culminating in the successful passage of the 2006 Amendment 3 (60%+ initiative).

Newman is a graduate of Princeton University (1999, B.A).
