Capital City Consulting Welcomes Andrew Ketchel

Tallahassee, Fla. – Capital City Consulting, LLC today announced that Andrew Ketchel has joined its team of committed, highly regarded government affairs consultants after several years of state-level government affairs and public sector work. Having served in several leadership roles in Florida’s executive branch, Ketchel brings expertise in multiple policy areas. Ketchel will begin on October 17, 2016, and can be contacted at

“We are pleased to have Andrew join our growing team,” said Nick Iarossi, partner at Capital City Consulting. “With experience in the public sector, including government affairs, Andrew boasts a deep understanding of policy issues impacting our state.  Having spent several years with the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) and Governor Scott’s administration, we know Andrew will be a great addition in helping our clients achieve success.”

Prior to joining Capital City Consulting, Ketchel served as legislative affairs director at the DEP. While serving in that role, Ketchel oversaw the DEP’s legislative functions and worked extensively in policy areas, including Florida’s complex water issues, the Florida Everglades, state-owned lands, waste management and the Florida Park Service. Additionally, Ketchel oversaw the 2016 state land statute rewrite, Florida’s coastal permitting statute reforms and orchestrated several overhauls related to Florida’s waste management. Previously, Ketchel served as the deputy legislative affairs director at the DEP.

During his time in the Executive Office of the Governor, Ketchel worked with the administration’s policy and leadership teams, and helped coordinate and execute the governor’s legislative agenda. Additionally, Ketchel, who first came to Tallahassee as a part of the executive branch’s prestigious Gubernatorial Fellows Program, worked extensively on the statewide consolidation of Florida identification cards, as well as with the Office of Legislative Affairs at the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles.

“I am proud to be joining such an esteemed firm,” said Ketchel.  “Capital City Consulting is known for their great team of consultants who work together to provide high-quality representation for their clients.  I am excited to have the opportunity to bring my background and insight to the firm as we navigate our clients through the legislative process to reach their goals.”

A native of Fort Walton Beach, Ketchel attended the University of South Florida, where he played football and earned Big East All-Academic Honors. Ketchel graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and a Master’s in Public Administration.
